How is the TSR tracker calculated?

To calculate your TSR value and the TSR values for your comparators if you have selected an RSTR comparing against constituent within an Index or against a comparator group you have defined, we are using the following formulas:

If your plan has not reached its performance end date:

(Current share price – Share price at performance start date + Dividends over period) / (Share price at performance start date)

Where :

  • Current share price is the company's current share price (closing price for the day before this calculation is run)
  • Share Price at performance start date is the share price of your company at the plan performance start date you selected
  • Dividends over the period are the dividend per share between performance start date and the current date (it is a $ amount).

If your plan has exceeded its performance end date:

(Share price at performance end date – Share price at performance start date + Dividends over period) / (Share price at performance start date)

Where :

  • Share price at performance end date is the company's share price obtained at the date when your plan ended
  • Share Price at performance start date is the share price of your company at the plan performance start date you selected
  • Dividends over the period are the dividend per share between performance start date and the current date (it is a dollar amount).

If you are comparing against an index, we follow the same calculation to get the TSR Index value, however instead of using share prices, we use the Index value at the appropriate dates.

Note: Share prices and dividends are provided by our third-party data provider Morningstar and have been adjusted to reflect any corporate actions that have affected the company a TSR value is calculated for.
