What is an ABN and how do I retrieve my ABN?

The Australian Business Number (ABN) is a unique identifier issued by the Australian Business Register (ABR) which is operated by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

You can retrieve your ABN using ABN Lookup.

ABN Lookup is the public view of the Australian Business Register (ABR). It provides access to publicly available information supplied by businesses when they register for an Australian Business Number (ABN).

ACN/ARBN/ARSN are managed by the Australian Securities & Investments Comission (ASIC).
An Australian Company Number (ACN) is allocated by ASIC when a body is registered as a company in Australia.
An Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN) is allocated by ASIC when a body that is not an Australian Company is registered with them, such as non-Australian companies, or other Australian bodies.
An Australian Registered Scheme Number (ARSN) is allocated by ASIC for investment schemes registered inside Australia.

Alternatively, you can retrieve your ACN/ARBN/ARSN using ASIC's lookup tool.

Although for many of our products we accept any of the mentioned registration numbers, certain products may exclusively require an ABN for sign up.
